Essential Addons for YOOtheme Pro

We are proud to formally introduce our new line of development, Addons for YOOtheme Pro that we consider Essential.

The Addons

We have a lot of ideas and ongoing work we are confident you are going to love, and soon we are going to introduce some of them, but meantime lets see what we have already released in the current 1.0 version, which by the way is already stable!

  • An Access addon, extends the Builder elements with rendering conditions, allowing to choose if and when an element should be rendered. Currently supporting DateLanguageUser AccessUser Role, and more to come. It's ready to be extended with custom rules as well, easily.
  • An Icons addon, introduces the concept Icons Collections such as Font AwesomeIoniconsZondicons, and the ability to add your custom collections as well. It integrates natively with UIkit, without the need to load any extra dependency.
  • The Chart element renders a great-looking chart with chart.js library, with 9 types of charts, plenty of options, and support for Dynamic Content on the way.
  • The Social Sharing element is a simple, but essentials social media sharing tool, it renders a button that allows sharing the current page into the selected social media platform.
  • The Markdown element, one of our favorites. It parses and caches the content or a file content markdown markup into HTML. With the combination of the soon to release File system source, it brings us one step closer to have, for example, an entire blog stored in static files.

The Voyage

In the last few months, we have been closely working with YOOtheme to deliver you addons that solve real problems with smooth integration. Together we made YOOtheme Pro developer-friendly and ready to embrace a whole new ecosystem.

At the time, the recommended way to extend YOOtheme Pro was to manually create a Child Theme and copy the addons in the right folders, and repeat on each update. Even if you managed to somehow automate that process there was no way to extend the elements options globally, or to create custom Fields for the Builder UI. It was simply not viable for 3rd party developers.

So we approached YOOtheme and discussed possible solutions, after some brainstorming and tests, YOOtheme Pro 2.1 was released and the documentation updated to reflect all the new hooks and ways to extend the framework natively and within a plugin. And that's how a new Chapter for ZOOlanders began.

What's Next

We strongly believe in YOOtheme Pro potential and YOOtheme's team collaboration has proven priceless. With all the cool stuff going on under the hood we cannot but be excited and this week we are going to introduce a new addon that we are sure is going to make you VERY excited, and if not, at least you will be able to "submit" a complaint ;)

Hi Miljan -

Looks like much needed functionality is addressed and added. Access addon is something I have been waiting for.

Thank you and the team!

Great to hear that new elements are coming up! Yootheme is excellent but any well-functional add-ons are welcome. The access add-on is much needed. I can't wait to hear about new ones.

Will you implement such features?

And could you imagine to include the possibility to send the filled form additionale as a pdf-file?

Best Regards

A native Input Date picker is already supported in the Input field, but we do have plans to add a standalone cross-browser one in some future release. And the Agree or Acceptance field is in active development ;)

Sending a submission as a pdf is an interesting concept, I added it as a Feature Request.

Can we have a poll element?

A rating element is the same story, but will tell you this. Once ZOO integration is released, we will look into this kind of elements for sure. Ping us back then :)

Is it possible to produce an article from a form. So we can map the form content to fields and so on?

Not at the moment, but is something we are looking into.
